Useful Information for Anyone Considering Relocation

Many subscribers may recall an interview I did about a year ago with a great couple from Canada Rob and Michelle. About a year prior I met them on one of our excursion tours. Even though they’ve been to the country nine previous times never ventured into our neck of the woods. While very impressed with their first exposure to the region surrounding Cabrera decided to plan a second visit for a prolonged stay. They wanted to be sure it’s a good fit over an extended time.

The following winter they returned for a three month stay figuring it would allow for a more informed decision. Turns out it didn’t take that long. Shortly after their second month and quoting Rob “yes she wants to make this permanent, I’m happy.”

As I’ve often mentioned we don’t sugar coat anything! Shortly after arriving the place they rented got broken into and most of their electronics got stolen. Pay close attention to Rob and Michelle as they describe what might have veered others away actually brought them to a closer understanding of why I repeatedly say Cabrera’s like Mayberry with internet. An excellent example of what thinking from the higher frequencies is all about. One may see a problem and another sees it as an opportunity.

Towards the latter part of that segment once again I listen to yet another person’s quote what I hear often from the people we’ve helped relocate. Rob states “we have more friends here than we do at home”.  I personally think that’s because the pace of life here closer represents that of the 50’s and 60’s. That was a time before the shift in balance took on another spectrum. “It’s a great little town it’s wonderful” and while I’m always cautioning that no place is right for everyone this last quote seems to be Rob and Michelle’s general impression.

Listen on as Michelle describes what her biggest concern was, the concern of being away from family. In general for anyone considering relocation or expatriation this latest video should provide a lot of useful information. A big thanks goes out to you both. Until next time, Barry in DR.

Great interview with Rob and Michelle. We were fortunate to meet them on our trip to Cabrera in February and very much enjoyed getting to know them both. The community is filled with great people who care and watch over each other. Glad Barry was able to find you a nice piece of land to settle on and we are looking forward to all being neighbors very soon. All the best. Mitchell and Barb.

It’s nice to see the those relocating all seem to enjoy the region. While nothing’s perfect it a far cry better than what most folks have been living with. Always appreciate the comments.
